Focus is Everything When You Start the Year

So many commercial realtors and salespeople are about to start a new year in the industry. Now would be a good time to ask this question:

Where do you want to be at the end of this coming year in your commercial real estate career?

I think most people answering this question would want to be in a better position than they have at the moment. The property market has been a bit frustrating for many over the last 12 months, given the pressures on finance availability and the changes in the local business community.

Yes, times are tougher at the moment in many property markets, however the deals are still being done and the industry will move on into a new property cycle.

Having been in the industry for longer than most, I know that focus and consistent action are the only two things that will take you to a different and better outcome this year. From the moment that you start work again this year, have a plan, keep it simple, and take action. You must stick to what you commit to.

So many realtors think that massive goals and huge lists are required to get them going, only to then find that in a few days or a few weeks they are back to their old ways. Habit is a difficult issue to change, however you must change your habits if this year is to be better or more successful than last year.

To all my readers, good luck with your listings and commissions this year. Start to develop some good habits and drive them into a new wave of success.
