It might seem an unusual question but you see it so much; a number of agents jumping on each other’s listings. Is the market that quiet that the only new business and listings available are that of the competition agents in your area? I think not.
I think the answer really is that most agents do not do enough prospecting for fresh business. They focus too much on what the other agents in the area are doing. Wouldn’t it be better to find some fresh new listings that have not been pushed unsuccessfully by other agents to no avail? Overpriced listings and poor quality properties are not the best listing stock to dominate market share.
So what’s my take on the lesson from this? Get active now in doing some really fresh prospecting for new property stock and listings. Talk to new people that you have not spoken to before.
